On Saturday 27 October 2018, the Trust celebrated its kaumātua at the 2018 Tūwharetoa Kaumātua Dinner, held at the Bayview Wairakei Resort in Taupō.

The night kicked off with a special performance by St Joseph’s Māori Girls’ College which touched the hearts of many of the kaumātua who, as former students of the College, remain closely linked to the College whānau.

The celebrations focused on theme of ‘staying together and seeing each other’, with the Trust keen to pay a special tribute to those at the heart of the marae.

The entertainment continued throughout the night with a series of upbeat performances by the Brown Brothers which had the room up dancing.
