Established in 2019, He Iwi Kāinga focuses on tailoring support to the unique needs of our Iwi, building communities where future generations will thrive.

Your role:

As our Senior Kāinga Coach – Whare Ora, you’re at the heart of this mission. You will:

  • Conduct Whare Ora Home Assessments to ensure our homes meet the highest standards.\
  • Offer hands-on advice on home repairs, maintenance, and safety, empowering homeowners with the knowledge they need.
  • Facilitate educational workshops and training, sharing your expertise and passion for healthy living environments.
  • Advocate for whānau in need, becoming their champion in creating healthier homes.
  • Lead by example, setting exceptional standards in everything you do, from performance to communication.

The challenges you’ll tackle:

  • You’ll engage and communicate with various stakeholders, understanding their needs and finding common ground.
  • You’ll be instrumental in sourcing, capturing, and reporting crucial data to secure funding and support for our projects.
  • Working closely with project managers and repair contractors, you’ll ensure our strategies are implemented effectively.
  • You’ll play a key role in adapting and refining our processes, making sure we’re always moving towards our vision of healthy, sustainable homes for our community.

  • A full car license.

About Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust: Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust is the Post-Settlement Governance Entity managing the financial and whenua resources returned to Ngāti Tūwharetoa in the Central North Island Forests Iwi Collective settlement. He Iwi Kainga is a subsidiary of the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust.
