What is Whakatata Mai Tūwharetoa?
WMT was launched recently to provide an opportunity for Ngāti Tūwharetoa uri to either confirm or update their registered information, or register themselves and their whānau with the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust (TST).
Why is this happening?
TST is currently upgrading its Database Software, so there will be some changes. While these changes are occurring, TST has decided to complete an update of registered information. This type of maintenance has not been done since TST began in 2009.
Ngāti Tūwharetoa will also need to make some key decisions shortly. It is important for TST to be able to communicate with you and your whānau so that you can participate in those decisions. How do I confirm my registered information?
Inside the letter will be your personal information that TST has recorded for you. This has been taken from your registration form and any further changes that you have made.
You will be asked to either confirm with a tick, or amend the information in your letter. Once completed, you simply pop it into the envelope provided and post back to us, free of charge.
If you have not received your letter before 1st June, please contact us 3786797 or 0800 TUWHARETOA (889 427) or call into our office at 81 Horomātangi Street in Taupō.
What will happen to the information?
TST will update your personal record on the TST Iwi Register. The signed letter will be scanned and attached to your record and the original destroyed.
