As we reported at our Annual General Meeting in December of last year, one of the key tasks identified for completion by the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust was the acquisition of the Corrections land at Hautu and Rangipō. To complete this purchase, we have established a partnership of Tūwharetoa entities to raise the required funds. Also important to note is that these entities have structured an arrangement for hapū participation and long term ownership.

While we have signed a conditional sale and purchase agreement, there are still a number of aspects to be completed. We are confident this transaction will go unconditional by the end of May.

This is an exciting time for Ngāti Tūwharetoa and as outlined in the attached, we look forward to finalising this deal on 30 June 2015.
